Did you read that right?
Yes. Yes, you did.
I don’t know what has come over me.
Some decisions are a challenge. For me, this wasn’t one.

I love my community! I really do. I know most people who do know me are aware that I’m an Allenford girl, through and through. I am a founding member of the Allenford Improvement Association and a final member of the Allenford Lions Club. I’ve raced rubber ducks in the river for 15 years and have organized and/or participated in everything from fundraising dinners to a three-day Allenford Homecoming to community concerts. But my community extends past this village.

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is a beautiful municipality. We are a playground for those seeking picturesque vistas, or outdoor adventures, or country roads. Fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, exploring, canoeing, biking, running, swimming, riding, kayaking, golfing…the list is endless! And that’s only half of year. The winter has skiing, snowmobiling, curling, skating, hockey, icefishing, snowshoeing. so much to do.
For those who prefer a more relaxing pace, our Town has restaurants and dining options all over the area. Summer offers many events in Sauble and Wiarton as well as small places like Park Head, or Elsinore or Purple Valley or Lions Head. There are those extra special events like community dinners, or strawberry socials or a maple syrup festival or music jamborees to be explored. There are artists and musicians waiting to be discovered and share their talents all over the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. Every weekend can bring a new adventure.
We are also a farming community. Our rural values are strong and deserve attention. What would we do without those farmers? In the spring, the farm equipment hits the fields and work continues all the way into the fall for harvest. Farmland is becoming more and more precious. Agriculture is experiencing more pressure. To do their work, a strong infrastructure with good roads and crossings is essential.

I decided to throw my hat in the ring for this election to be on the Council.
I know the hard work that is required to serve my fellow residents.
I know the commitment that would be required.
But I’m ready to serve my neighbours.
And I’m asking for your support and your vote in October.
